Terms of Service
Last updated: March 13, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Community Emergency Guide ("CEG") at ceg.sfg.ac, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use CEG. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Safety For Generations LLC ("SFG," "we," "us," or "our").
2. Description of Service
CEG is an emergency preparedness and coordination tool designed to help individuals, families, and communities prepare for and respond to emergencies. CEG provides features including safe-zone lookup, check-in status, Field Care Cards, EMS triage assistance, family reunification, and household pre-planning.
CEG is not a substitute for calling 911 or contacting professional emergency services. CEG does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. In a life-threatening emergency, always call 911 first.
3. User Accounts
Certain features of CEG require you to create an account using an email address and password, authenticated through Supabase Auth. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at Steven@sfg.ac if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
Some features, such as creating a basic Medical Safety Card and looking up safe zones, do not require an account.
4. Field Care Cards (FCCs)
Field Care Cards allow you to enter medical information, emergency contacts, advance directives, and other personal health data for yourself and your household members. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of the information you enter.
CEG is not a healthcare provider. We do not verify, validate, or guarantee the accuracy of any medical information stored in Field Care Cards. EMS and other first responders who access your Field Care Card data should exercise their own professional judgment.
5. Emergency Features
CEG offers emergency-related features including check-in status reporting, EMS triage guidance, safe-zone lookup, hospital/ER locator, and family reunification tools. These features are tools designed to assist you and are provided on a best-effort basis.
We do not guarantee that emergency features will be available at all times, that data will be transmitted successfully during a disaster, or that use of these features will result in a specific emergency response outcome. Network outages, power failures, and other infrastructure disruptions common during emergencies may affect availability.
6. CEG Bands
CEG Bands are physical NFC/QR-enabled silicone wristbands that resolve to your emergency profile when scanned or tapped. Each band carries a unique CEG code (e.g., CEG:HH-00471) that links to your data stored in the CEG backend.
CEG Band hardware is non-refundable once activated and linked to a household profile. Bands that have not been activated may be returned within 30 days of purchase in their original packaging. If a band is lost or damaged, you are responsible for deactivating it through your account settings and ordering a replacement.
7. Billing and Payments
CEG offers free and premium service tiers, as well as CEG Band purchases. All payments are processed through Stripe. By providing payment information, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Premium subscriptions may be cancelled at any time through the Stripe customer portal accessible from your CEG settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
8. SMS Communications
CEG uses Twilio to send SMS messages for emergency alerts, temporary access codes, check-in notifications, and family reunification updates. By providing your phone number, you consent to receiving these messages.
Standard messaging and data rates from your carrier may apply. You may opt out of non-critical SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. Note that opting out of SMS may limit certain features, including emergency alert delivery and temporary access code verification.
9. Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into CEG, including Field Care Card information, household profiles, check-in records, and account data. We do not sell your data to third parties.
You may export your data or request a complete copy at any time through your account settings page at /settings. You may also delete your data at any time, subject to the account deletion process described below.
10. Account Deletion
You may request account deletion at any time through your settings page. Our deletion process is CCPA-compliant and follows an 8-step cascade:
- Deactivate all linked CEG Bands
- Remove household members and their Field Care Card data
- Delete emergency contacts
- Purge check-in history and status records
- Remove EMS access logs
- Cancel active subscriptions via Stripe
- Delete account credentials from authentication provider
- Remove all remaining personally identifiable information
There is a 30-day grace period after you initiate deletion, during which you may reactivate your account by logging in. After 30 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
11. Limitation of Liability
CEG is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Safety For Generations LLC and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use of or inability to use CEG during an emergency
- Any emergency outcome, whether or not CEG was used
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or transmissions
- Service interruptions, including those caused by disasters
- Actions taken or not taken by emergency responders based on information in CEG
CEG is not a replacement for professional emergency services, including 911, fire, police, or EMS. Your use of CEG is at your own risk.
12. Medical Disclaimer
All medical information stored in Field Care Cards is user-entered and has not been reviewed, verified, or validated by CEG, Safety For Generations LLC, or any licensed healthcare professional. CEG does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
EMS personnel, first responders, and other authorized users who access Field Care Card data should use their own professional judgment and follow established clinical protocols. Field Care Card data is intended to supplement, not replace, a patient interview, physical assessment, or electronic patient care report (ePCR).

14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to CEG at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to:
- Submitting false or misleading emergency information
- Abusing emergency features (e.g., false check-ins or triage reports)
- Attempting to access other users' data without authorization
- Using CEG for any unlawful purpose
- Interfering with the operation of CEG or its infrastructure
Upon termination, your right to use CEG ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CEG after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or an in-app notice.
